UA names Long to replace Broyles
He becomes eighth athletic director

FAYETTEVILLE — It wasn’t lost on Jeff Long that his introduction Tuesday as Arkansas’ next athletic director occurred in a building bearing the name of his predecessor.
Long, University of Pittsburgh’s athletic director since May 2003, will replace Frank Broyles, Arkansas’ athletic director since 1973 and head football coach from 1958-1976, on Jan. 1, 2008.
The official announcement came in the Raymond Miller Room of the Broyles Athletic Center at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
